Review by hotel critic
My stay at De Os en het Paard was a delightful retreat by the river Linge. The warm welcome from Anneliek and Woulter set the tone for a relaxing getaway. The spacious suite, although not very modern, exuded charm and tranquility, fitting perfectly with the serene surroundings.Despite the renovation works in progress, the owners' genuine dedication shone through in every aspect of the service. The meals, from the delicious breakfast to the exquisite 5-course tasting menu in the cozy dining room overlooking the river, were a true highlight of the stay. The pet-friendly accommodation offered a comfortable seating area, along with a private bathroom featuring a bath, shower, and complimentary toiletries. The picturesque terrace and garden furniture invited moments of peace and contemplation, while the free WiFi and on-site bar added modern conveniences to this historical setting. An unexpected treat was the opportunity to engage in activities such as fishing and canoeing, immersing ourselves in the natural beauty of the region. The free shuttle service provided added convenience, making it easy to explore the area without worry. In conclusion, De Os en het Paard is more than just a place to stay - it's a hidden gem where hospitality and authenticity blend seamlessly to create a truly memorable experience. I would recommend it to anyone seeking a tranquil escape in a picturesque Dutch setting.
